Way to Hotel

Traveling to Blues River Resort can be made much easier with your own private transport since there’s barely any public means of transport that drops people right at its entrance. The entire trip from Bangkok takes about three and a half or four hours if driven non-stop via Motorway (Route 7) and later on Highway 344/3, all the way until Laem Sing where smaller winding provincial roads pass through fruit plantations and shrimp farms before reaching the town itself. Good road conditions allow fast driving most parts except maybe this last section into Laem Sing. Having waterfalls such as Phlio Waterfall nearby plus historic Chanthaburi riverside community city center just thirty minutes away makes having personal car very useful.

Buses or minivans depart from Bangkok’s Eastern (Ekamai) Bus Terminal to Chanthaburi Bus Terminal. The trip takes about four hours. From the terminal in town, you will have to negotiate with a local Songthaew (converted pickup truck taxi) driver or private driver to take you the remaining 20-30 kilometers to Laem Sing. This can be tricky if you don’t speak Thai, and arranging a return trip can be even harder as taxis don't roam around Laem Sing. Therefore, renting a car in Bangkok or Chanthaburi town is highly recommended.

The resort is spread out. The villas are arranged in rows, some nearer to the pool and others closer to the river. Parking is right next to or very close to most villas which makes unloading luggage easy but be aware that though well-paved internal roads can get quite narrow if you’re driving a large SUV carefully maneuver around all those brightly colored buildings and landscaping features.
